Blue Tigers fall to Stephens in tennis

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Lincoln University closed out the 2014 tennis campaign with a 9-0 loss to Stephens College on Wednesday.

Lincoln won multiple games in each doubles match, but the Stars (4-9) were still able to earn the sweep against Lincoln (1-12).

The duo of Kamaria Braye and Abigail Gober had the most success in doubles play, pushing their opponents to the brink in their second flight match before falling by an 8-5 final.

The first doubles tandem of Alina Katrevich and Ashley Roling won three games before dropping an 8-3 decision.

Lincoln's No. 3 team of Jasmine Daniel and Brittanee Wells also fell 8-3.

In singles, Katrevich lost 6-0, 6-0; Gober lost 6-1, 6-0; Roling lost 6-2, 6-1; Daniel lost 6-4, 6-1; Braye lost 6-0, 6-1 and Wells lost 6-0, 6-4.
