Blair Oaks and Helias freshmen split

WARDSVILLE, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons claimed a 10-0 win in the opener, but the Helias Crusaders bounced back for a 6-3 win in Game 2 of a Wednesday doubleheader.

Ryan Paschal received the win in Game 1, allowing two hits and striking out 11 in six innings.

Ethan Rackers was 1-for-3 and drove in four runs, while Mason Gipe was 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead Blair Oaks at the plate in the opener. Thomas Versules was 1-for-2 with two RBI, while Ben Forck added two hits to help pace the Falcons.

In the nightcap, Paschal was 2-for-2 and drove in the lone run for Blair Oaks.

Tyler Swehla received the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits in two innings. Tanner Abbott surrendered two runs (no earned) on one hit, while striking out three in three innings.

Blair Oaks (12-4) will play Helias in the first round of the Blair Oaks Tournament at 4 p.m. Friday.
