Struemph wins again

SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State freshman pitcher Erin Struemph (St. Elizabeth High School) allowed five runs on four hits, while striking out eight in five innings as the Lady Bears claimed a 6-5 victory against Wichita State on Tuesday.

The Shockers bounced back for a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader.

Struemph, who is now 10-8 on the year, also struck out three in 1 1/3 innings in the nightcap.

Missouri State (25-21, 8-12 MVC) will play at Missouri at 5 p.m. today.
