LU competes at league meet

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Three Lincoln golfers represented the Blue Tigers during the opening round of the 2014 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championship on Monday.

Sophia Pardalos, Mackenzie Wilson and Lauren McHenry competed as individuals at the tournament, which consists of three rounds over three days at the Alvamar Golf Club.

Pardalos had the best round for Lincoln, shooting a 95 to finish the first round tied for 28th. Wilson and McHenry are tied for 44th after both golfers carded scores of 107.

The Blue Tigers will remain in Lawrence for the second round of the championship today.

Central Oklahoma is currently in first place at 320, while Northeastern State (326), Lindenwood (345) and Northwest Missouri (352) rounded out the top four teams after the first round.

Taylor Neidy of Central Oklahoma leads the field after shooting a four-over 76 on the first day.
