Columbia police investigate homicide

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Columbia police are investigating the death of a man in an apartment building as a homicide.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1nFcyHG ) a man who lives nearby called police around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after hearing a half-dozen gunshots. The neighbor says he saw two men running away from the apartment building.

Information about the man who was shot dead was not immediately released.

Investigators were looking for a green Chevrolet Impala with more than one person inside. Police weren't sure if those in the car were victims or suspects, but dispatchers received reports of gunfire exchanged between the vehicle and those in the small apartment building.
