Program on human trafficking slated

Missouri River Regional Library (MRRL) and the Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition will present a program on human trafficking at 7 p.m. May 8 in MRRL's art gallery in Jefferson City.

The program is recommended for mature teens, parents of young children or youth, and adults working or volunteering in schools, child welfare, social services, health care, churches and other faith-based groups, children and youth programs, organizations serving at-risk populations, and law enforcement.

The program will feature Christine McDonald, a human trafficking survivor, author, advocate and motivational speaker; Crystal Midkiff, director of Mustard Seed Fair Trade in Columbia; and Nanette Ward, director of the Central Missouri Stop Human Trafficking Coalition. It will also feature an educational video, a fair trade display and a book display.
