Hill earns award

The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association selected Lincoln sprinter Romone Hill as its men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Hill posted the MIAA’s fastest time in the 200-meter dash after taking second at the Kansas Relays last weekend. Hill had the best finish of any collegiate athlete at the relays, finishing the race in 21 seconds, a provisional-qualifying time that leads the MIAA and is tied for seventh nationally.

Hill also helped Lincoln earn a sixth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 41.41 after the Blue Tigers became the only Division II squad to qualify for the finals.

Lincoln will be in Des Moines, Iowa this week for the Drake Relays, one of the biggest outdoor track and field meets in the country.
