Thomas Jefferson sweeps

Thomas Jefferson swept the titles in an eighth-grade quadrangular Thursday.

On the boys side, Thomas Jefferson finished with 99 points.

Brandon Vieth was a triple-winner, taking first in the 200-meter dash (26.43), the shot put (37-5) and the discus (114-11). He also ran on the winning 4x200-meter relay team (1:44.74), along with Elijah Jackson, Thomas McCarthy and Garrett Parker.

Other individual winners for Thomas Jefferson included Garrett Parker in the 100-meter dash, Blake Snellen in the pole vault, Michael Ellinger in the high jump and Wilber Fernandez in the triple jump. The team of Jackson, Fernandez Parker and Christopher Frank also won the 4x100-meter relay.

On the girls side, Thomas Jefferson won with 78 points.

Victoria Arcobasso was a double-winner, taking first in the 800-meter run (2:48,12) and pole vault (6-5).

Other individual winners for Thomas Jefferson included Brianna Holley in the 75-meter hurdles, Maelynn Cooper in the 100-meter dash, LaKia Newman in the 200-meter dash, Hannah Watson in the high jump and Nautika Key in the shot put.

Thomas Jefferson also won both relays - the 4x200 (Arcobasso, Holley, Taylor Burkhead and Newman) and the 4x100 (Newman, Cooper, Destiny Williams and Ileah Chambly).
