Missouri baseball squad falls to Mississippi State

COLUMBIA, Mo. - A three-run seventh inning for the No. 22 Mississippi State Bulldogs proved to be the difference as Missouri fell 6-2 on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Stadium.

Jon Miles received the loss for the Tigers, allowing four runs on five hits in 61/3 innings.

Ryan Howard and Jake Ring both picked up two hits, while Bret Peel collected the only RBI for Missouri, which fell to 17-20 overall and 6-11 in the Southeastern Conference.

Mississippi State improved to 25-15 overall and 9-8 in the SEC.

On Friday, the Bulldogs edged Missouri 3-2 in 11 innings.

The teams will conclude the series at 1 p.m. today.
