UPDATE: Six in custody in connection with JC shooting

As of today at 3:40 pm, the sixth suspect in the Friday evening shooting has now been taken Into custody. Kaleb Gilpin, 17, was located on Wardsville Road in Cole County and was detained by persons knowing him from the earlier release today.

All 6 suspects are now in custody/detained pending charges.

EARLIER COVERAGE

Jefferson City police were called to the 400 block of East Dunklin Friday night for a call of multiple shots fired into a residence. Officers arrived on-scene and found a 33-year old victim who had been shot one time through his torso while he was inside the residence. Jefferson City Police Detectives were called and began an investigation.

Over the next 24 hours, Detectives developed information to include a number of leads on potential suspects in the case. Detectives, Narcotics Detectives, and members of the Community Action Team coordinated efforts to arrest three (3) suspects on Monday evening, and then two (2) additional suspects today. One (1) more suspect remains at large, and is wanted by Jefferson City Police for his connection in the shooting. Those arrested for Assault 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action were:

Javier Morris, 17, of Jefferson City

Dennis Summers, 24, of Jefferson City

Onterion Sullivan, 20, of Jefferson City

Keiondrey Morris , 18, of Jefferson City

A 16 year-old male juvenile, also from Jefferson City

Currently at large is Kaleb Gilpin, 17, of Jefferson City, who is wanted by JCPD for first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
