COLUMBIA - Columbia College swept an American Midwest Conference doubleheader from crosstown rival Stephens College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars took Game 1 by a score of 20-3 and posted a 10-2 victory in Game 2, with both contests ending in five innings.
Kristin Eiken (Blair Oaks High School) was 5-for-8 and drove in six runs, while Marli Hayes (Jefferson City High School) was 5-for-7 with three RBI to help lead Columbia.
Columbia is now 24-11 overall and 16-2 in conference play, tying the Cougars with William Woods for first place in the AMC.
Columbia will hit the road for a pair of AMC doubleheaders to close out the week, starting with a matchup against Mid-Continent (Ky.) University on Thursday. The Cougars will then take on Freed-Hardemen (Tenn.) University on Friday.
