SEC honors Anderson

COLUMBIA - Missouri senior Eric Anderson was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The award comes after Anderson did it all for the Tigers in a series win at No. 15 Kentucky, Missouri's second road series win against a ranked opponent this season.

Anderson becomes the third Missouri player to earn SEC weekly praise this season, joining pitchers Brett Graves and Keaton Steele.

Anderson was a key factor in both Tiger wins at Kentucky. He hit .444 while slugging .778 and reached base 50 percent of the time. He also drove in a team-high six runs on the week while scoring two more with a double, triple and home run.

On the mound, Anderson held the SEC's top offense to just three runs in seven innings while striking out 10 and walking one.
