Missouri tops No. 15 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Eric Anderson struck out 10 batters and tallied the go-ahead hit in the top of the sixth inning as Missouri defeated No. 15 Kentucky 8-3 on Sunday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

Anderson allowed three runs on nine hits and one walk in seven innings against the Southeastern Conference's top offensive team.

At the plate, Anderson was 3-for-5 with two RBI to help pace the Tigers (17-17, 6-9 SEC).

The victory marked Missouri's second road series win against a ranked opponent this season. Before this year, the Tigers had not posted a series win on the road against a ranked opponent since 2009.

Missouri, which has five wins against ranked opponents this year, will take on Missouri State at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday in Springfield.
