Police seek suspect in Jefferson City shooting

Jefferson City police are investigating a shooting incident that injured a man inside a residence on Friday evening.

Police received a call around 6:30 p.m. that multiple shots had been fired into an apartment at 428 E. Dunklin St., damaging a living room window.

Officers report a 33-year-old man inside the residence suffered a single gunshot wound to his torso. They recovered several spent shell casings outside the home.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was conscious and alert but unable to provide a description of possible suspects, police said. He was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a light gray or silver Chrysler 300 sedan, characterizing it as a "nice car with nice wheels," with at least two black male occupants.
