OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Helias Lady Crusaders lost 2-1 in penalty kicks to Cherry Creek (Colo.) in the first round of the Heart of America Invitational on Friday.
Cherry Creek, ranked fifth in Colorado, scored 1:30 into the game.
Tiffany Weaver knotted the score with her eighth goal of the season.
Cherry Creek then used a 3-1 edge in penalty kicks to secure the win.
Helias (4-3) plays Eureka today.
