Eugene sets school records

EUGENE - Eugene set multiple milestones Thursday.

The Eagles shot a 140 to break the previous school record for a team score by five strokes, while Drew Geritz shot a 4-under 32 to set an indivual scoring record as Eugene edged California, New Bloomfield and Linn in a quadrangular match at Redfield.

Geritz, a senior, broke the previous record by one stroke, which he and Ryan Doerhoff set in 2013.

Austin Russell finished with a 1-under 35, while Jeremy Evers (36) and Carson Doerhoff (37) rounded out the field for Eugene.

California took second with a 182, while New Bloomfield was third at 193 and Linn was fourth at 211.

On Wednesday, Southern Boone shot a 175 to edge Eugene by four strokes in a quadrangular match with Father Tolton and Fatima.

Tolton was third at 181 and Fatima was fourth at 203.

Tolton freshman Jack Parker led the field with a 1-under 35.

Eugene (10-1) will compete Monday against Tolton at Columbia Country Club.
