Probation ordered in stabbing case

A Jefferson City man charged in connection with a stabbing in August 2013 has been placed on five years supervised probation.

Willie Harrison , 51, pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

Jefferson City police reported that officers were sent to Broadway and West Atchison streets area to investigate a 911 hang-up call.

When a second call came in, officers could hear screaming from the area of 815 Washington St., a block east of the first call.

Police said they found a woman in the middle of the street, bleeding from three stab wounds.

Harrison then was found in the parking lot behind 815 Washington St. with a wound where he had been stabbed in the head with a screwdriver.

A witness said that Harrison dragged the victim down the stairs from 815 Washington while stabbing her.

The witness said the victim stabbed Harrison in the head in self-defense.

Police said both Harrison and the victim were treated for their non-life threatening injuries at separate area hospitals.
