Blair Oaks beats Southern Boone

ASHLAND - Shintaro Hatashima picked up his first varsity win, while Brent Heckemeyer and Ryan Wilbers hit home runs to lead Blair Oaks to an 8-4 victory against Southern Boone on Tuesday.

Hatashima tossed five shutout innings, allowing seven hits along the way, to earn the win.

Heckemeyer went 3-for-3 with three RBI while launching a two run-shot in the fifth. Wilbers blasted a three-run homer in the third inning.

Blair Oaks went up 8-0 before Southern Boone responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the score respectable.

John Troth picked up three hits for the Eagles, while Sam Bowles and Ethan O'Keefe had two apiece.

Blair Oaks (8-0) plays Blue Springs at noon Friday in the Capital City Invitational at Vivion Field.

Southern Boone won the JV game 7-0.

Adam Schell took the loss for Blair Oaks. Dylan Hoelscher and Cole Stockman both had a hit for the Falcons (3-1).
