Jays golfers finish sixth

At Columbia Classic

COLUMBIA — The Jefferson City Jays took sixth in the Columbia Classic on Monday.

Jefferson City shot 331 as a team. Rock Bridge won the 14-team event with a 295. Rockhurst was second with a 310 and Park Hill South took third with a 310.

Rock Bridge’s Matt Echelmeier took overall medalist honors with a 67, while teammate Jack Knoessel was the runner-up with a 71.

Jefferson City’s Gabe Trowbridge tied for sixth overall with a 76. Andrew Hansen and David Anderson both carded an 83 and Kene Uhlmann shot an 89 to round out the scoring for the Jays. Grant Haarmann also competed for Jefferson City, shooting a 90.
