Vitae awarded grant for baseball campaign

The Vitae Foundation received a grant from the Alphonse J. Schwartze Foundation to provide an opportunity to spread its message of life to the "Cardinal Nation." Vitae will advertise during all 162 ballgames on the St. Louis Cardinals Radio Network.

This is the seventh year the Foundation has received a grant.

The grant this year has several new components, which in addition to the branding of commercials also expands the essay contest for Osage County students. This is the fourth year the essay contest has been included as part of the grant.

The essay contest is open to Osage County students who want to take a stand on life issues like abortion, bullying, elderly and child abuse. It is jointly sponsored by Vitae Foundation and the Alphonse J. Schwartze Community Foundation.

Each student who submits an essay will receive four tickets to Osage County Night at the Ballpark on July 22. The grand prize winner will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game. The second-place winner will visit the Cardinal radio booth and meet Mike Shannon, and will also stop by the television booth.
