Tiger forward Price arrested twice in same day

COLUMBIA - Missouri forward Zach Price was indefinitely suspended from the team after the first of his two arrests Thursday.

Police Sgt. Joe Bernhard told the Columbia Daily Tribune the 20-year-old Price was arrested early Thursday after he punched a 23-year-old male roommate and a pushed a 23-year-old female to the ground during an argument.

He was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and third-degree domestic assault. Price posted bond and was released from jail.

Both victims suffered minor injuries.

Missouri head coach Frank Haith said Price was immediately suspended while the case is being investigated.

"We are aware of last night's incident involving Zach Price and have suspended him from our program immediately," Haith said in a statement. "We are working to gather facts related to the incident and will handle our actions with him internally."

Later on Thursday, Price was arrested for a second time, this one for an earlier incident involving the same parties, as Price rammed the previous victims' car with his own Wednesday night.

Price, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound junior, sat out last season after transferring from Louisville. He averaged 1.3 points and 1.4 rebounds during his sophomore season as a reserve for the Cardinals.

Price is the third Missouri basketball player arrested in the past few weeks. Freshmen Wes Clark and Shane Rector were arrested March 15 for marijuana possession.
