Cause for JC apartment fire under investigation

The cause of a fire at a Jefferson City apartment complex is under investigation

According to fire department reports, fire crews responded to a one alarm apartment fire at Broadmoor Apartments, 505 Ellis Boulevard, around 6:41 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The fire was located in the lower apartment of a two story apartment building.

The apartment was not occupied at the time of the fire.

The apartment on fire suffered serious damage in the living area and serious smoke and heat damage to the remaining area.

Several residents in other apartments were evacuated for a short period of time.

No injuries were reported.
