Crusaders win 16-1 in five innings

COLUMBIA — Andy Devine allowed one run on two hits and struck out three in four innings as Helias rolled to a 16-1 win against Battle in five innings Tuesday.

Cole Donaldson threw a scoreless fifth inning without allowing a hit and striking out one for the Crusaders (3-3).

Alex Barton and Todd Buschjost both had two hits and drove in two runs, while Adam Bax was 2-for-3 with three runs scored to lead Helias at the plate.

The Crusaders will play Thursday at Cuba.

In the JV contest, Ryan Gartner threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks as Helias cruised to a 12-0 win against Battle in five innings.

Kale Gerstner was 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored to lead the Crusaders at the plate.
