Blair Oaks softball splits

COLUMBIA — A walk-off home run highlighted a 1-1 day for Blair Oaks in the Kewpie Classic on Friday.

The Lady Falcons opened with a 7-5 victory against St. Dominic that ended in dramatic fashion.

Blake Burks smacked a two-run homer to deliver Blair Oaks the win. The home run was her second in as many days.

LeeAnn Polowy, Payton Staggs and Paige Siebeneck all had two hits. Polowy and Sara Jones both added two RBI.

Staggs was the winning pitcher, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Blair Oaks then fell 10-2 to Seckman.

Staggs went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Siebeneck added two hits.

Taylor Gehlert took the loss, allowing five earned runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and eight walks. Three were intentional.

Blair Oaks (15-4) resumes tournament play at 10:30 today against a yet to be determined foe.
