Your Opinion: Changes examined

Dear Editor:

For all you government school supporters, I would like to call your attention to their latest indoctrination effort.

John J. Newman and John M. Schmalbach, authors of "United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination," have taken it upon themselves to change the Constitution of the United States. The book is published by Amsco School Publications and is designed for students preparing to take the AP U.S. History Exam.

The textbook notes the Second Amendment as, "The people have a right to keep and bear arms in a state militia." The First, Third, Fourth and Fifth Amendments are also misrepresented. This textbook is being used by the John H. Guyer High School in Denton, Texas. (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/09/18/School-Textbook-Changes-Constitution)

For those of you who don't know, the wording of the Second Amendment is "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Can any of you guess why any legitimate publisher would choose to print anything other than the exact wording of our Constitution? Can you say gun control?

Should anyone wonder why a dictatorial leader like Obama can so easily thwart our Constitution when he has our education system to train our young to allow it?
