Panel to review city administrator applicants

A committee of Jefferson City officials and residents has been formed to review applicants for the job of city administrator.

The position became vacant Monday when the City Council voted 8-2 to fire City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus in a closed session.

A nationwide search to fill the post is being conducted by city staff; the application deadline for the position is Nov. 15.

After that date, the selection committee will narrow the field down to one or two candidates and submit its recommendation to the mayor. The hiring is expected to take four to five months.

The members of the selection committee are: Bob Scrivner, Ann Bax, Stephanie Bell, Nimrod Chapel Jr., Marc Ellinger, Dan Klindt, Brian Mitchell, John Pelzer, Kevin Rome and Joe Scheppers.
