Lady Jays finish eighth

KANSAS CITY — The Jefferson City Lady Jays finished eighth in the 18-team Notre Dame de Sion Tournament held Monday at Blue Hills Country Club.

The host school won the event with a team total of 355, while Warrensburg was second, just three shots back.

Jefferson City, which carded a team score of 383, was led by Brook Thompson’s 81, which was good enough for a four-way tie for second place. Mariah Peters of Blue Springs was the medalist, as she fired a 76.

Also for Jefferson City, Hope Watson shot a 91, Ashlee Morrison posted a 103 and Ellie Severance posted a 108.
