The Helias Lady Crusaders finished second in the Helias Freshmen Invitational Tournament on Saturday with a record of 5-1.
In pool play, Helias beat Battle 25-9, 25-8; routed Rolla 25-6, 25-14; and got past Hickman 25-10, 25-7.
In tournament play, the Lady Crusaders defeated Hickman 25-5, 25-7; downed Blair Oaks 25-14, 13-25, 25-19; and then lost to Quincy (Ill.) 14-25, 11-25 in the championship.
Abby Shepard had 76 service points, 39 assists and 15 digs for Helias, Morgan Fischer had 33 service points and 26 assists, Maddie Neuner had 23 kills and five blocks, Ella Ward added 18 kills and Laura Vanderfeltz contributed 25 digs.
Helias is now 11-1 on the season.
