Helias blanks Moberly

Helias closed out the home portion of its tennis schedule Monday with a 9-0 victory against Moberly at Washington Park.

Singles winners for the Lady Crusaders were Ashley Dowden (6-1, 6-1), Mary Conley (6-2, 6-1), Abbey Verslues (6-4, 6-4), Lauren Highfill (6-4, 6-1), Becca Shelton (6-2, 6-0) and Casey Clogston (6-0, 6-1).

Doubles winners were Dowden and Conley (6-1, 6-2), Verslues and Clogston (6-3, 6-4) and Highfill and Shelton (6-2, 6-3).

Five Helias seniors were honored for Senior Night — Clogston, Verslues, Abby Bullock, Lauren Brune and Samantha Bruemmer.

Bullock and Bruemmer won a JV doubles match 6-0. Brune and Abby Block won 6-1 before Brune and Danielle Schrimpf won 6-0. Bullock then wont a singles match 6-0.

Helias (9-1 in duals, 3-0 in tournaments) travels today to Camdenton.

The Lady Crusaders took part in the Rolla Doubles Tournament on Saturday as Helias took first place in all four flights.

Dowden and Conley won the top flight, Verslues and Clogston topped the second flight, Shelton and Highfill won the third flight and Bruemmer and Bullock won the fourth flight.
