Your Opinion: Regime mines credit, behavioral data

Dear Editor:

The takeover of our rights by our rapidly growing fascist regime (federal government) is astounding. It's going so fast I can't even keep up with it anymore. So today I'm including comments on two news items that I find unbelievable that the media doesn't seem to care much about! Anyway, all I hear on the news is Syria wagging the dog.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) officials are seeking to monitor four out of every five consumer credit card transactions this year - up to 42 billion transactions - through a controversial data-mining program, according to documents obtained by the Washington Examiner. (http://washingtonexaminer.com/cfpbs-data-mining-on-consumer-credit-cards-challenged-in-heated-house-hearing/article/2535726). Why?

The other item: the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) wants to require health care providers to include "social and behavioral" data in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and to link patient's records to public health departments, it was announced last week (http://freebeacon.com/government-seeking-inclusion-of-social-and-behavioral-in-health-records/). The CMS currently (http://www.cms.gov/) covers 100 million people through Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Hospital Insurance Program and is tasked with running Obamacare.

Why is it that credit card transactions and social and behavioral data is so important to this regime? Oh, I get it now. In my usual Tea Party mindset it's starting to make sense. If they can check all credit card purchases, which they know Tea Partiers use since they don't have any money, they can possibly find out who is buying guns. They can then sic the ATF on them to check them out. Then if they get mad and try to exercise any of their rights like expecting a warrant for a search then the ATF can notify the CMS and put it in their file they have a behavioral problem. Isn't that great? Then, when the Tea Partier shoots himself in the foot, has to go to the hospital, the CMS can say sorry, you caused that foot problem because you have a tendency to get angry, causing irrationality, loss of control and therefore not able to control the gun. Of course, all liberal Democrats think guns kill people all by themselves without help from anybody.

Isn't it wonderful how our elected regime is attempting to care for us? Just think if it weren't for those pesky Republicans always standing in the way, just think what life would be like? An absolute utopia!

Wake up America! The world of George Orwell is almost here. He just missed it by 30 years.
