Jefferson City resident No. 2 at Missouri Senior Women's Amateur

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Jefferson City's Debbie Sawyer came up just one shot shy of tying for the lead at the 21st Missouri Women's Golf Association Senior Women's Championship, falling to Wildwood's Tina Jones.

Jones ended up with a two-day 4-over total of 73-75-148 at the par-71 Cape Girardeau Country Club. Sawyer carded a score of 74-75-149.

Also in the Championship Division, Jefferson City's Rebecca Haskamp finished 13th (91-81-172).

In the A Flight, Westphalia's Pam Knoll finished third (81-80-161), four shots back of the winner.

In the B Flight, Nancie Duncan of Osage Beach tied for fourth (90-89-179), two shots behind the winner. Jefferson City's Barb Ludy was eighth (88-95-183).

Jefferson City's Janice Thielemier tied for second in the C Flight (93-92-185), five shots back of first. Jefferson City's Deanna McKay was sixth (93-97-190) and Osage Beach's Patricia McNally tied for eighth (92-100-192).

In the D Flight, Osage Beach's Jane Carter was eighth (107-100-207), 26 shots behind the winner.
