Prep Football: Jays frosh rip Rock Bridge

The Jefferson City freshman football team ripped Rock Bridge 47-6 on Thursday at Adkins Stadium.

The Jays took a 14-0 halftime lead with two second-quarter scores. The first score came on Rashaun Woods' interception return, while the next came on an 86-yard pass from Gunnar See to Gavin Strobel. Tate Borgmeyer kicked both PATs.

In the third quarter, the Jays scored on an 11-yard run by Grant Day and touchdown runs of 17 yards and 1 yard by See. Two PATs were no good and the Jays got a 2-point pass from See to Alan Roettgen to make it 34-6.

Craig Hawkins had a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and the 2-point try failed, leaving the score at 40-6. The Jays then got a 34-yard scoring run by Isaac Moreland and a PAT from Borgmeyer for the final margin.

Woods had two interceptions, while Roettgen had a sack and a fumble recovery.

The Jays return to action Thursday at DeSmet.
