Helias splits on Saturday

The Helias Lady Crusaders went 1-1 in softball tournament action Saturday.

Helias dropped a 6-5 decision in eight innings to St. Elizabeth in its first game.

Julie Harris and Paige Bange had three hits each for Helias. Peyton Hall had two hits, including a three-run home run. Kaylie LeCuru also had two hits.

Lindsey Steinbeck went the distance for Helias, allowing 10 hits and three walks while striking out five.

Helias closed with a 13-3 victory in six innings against Camdenton.

Allie Ashcraft was the winner, working four innings. She allowed four hits and two walks while striking out one. Steinbeck pitched the final two frames.

Harris had three hits and scored twice in the victory. Lauren Morrow totaled two hits and four RBI, while Bange finished with two hits and three RBI. Kaysie Scheuler had two hits and scored two runs.

Helias (2-8) will host Hickman on Tuesday.
