Murray State comes back to top Missouri State 41-38

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Maikhail Miller completed a 15-yard pass to Walter Powell with 24 seconds remaining to cap a 75-yard drive and give Murray State a 41-38 win over Missouri State in a game that had seven lead changes.

John Therrell intercepted a Kierra Harris pass with eight seconds remaining to end the final threat by Missouri State (0-3).

Both teams were always within one touchdown of retaking the lead. There were four lead changes in the final quarter.

Miller threw for 272 yards and five touchdowns. Powell caught 11 passes for 155 yards for Murray State (2-1)

Vernon Scott led Missouri State with 189 yards rushing on 25 carries.

Missouri State took a 14-6 halftime lead. That changed quickly when Murray State's Austin Witmer returned the second half kickoff 98 yards to close the gap to 14-12. Miller later hit Janawski Davis for a 52-yard score for Murray State's first lead.
