Calvary volleyball splits

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Calvary Lutheran split a pair of games in the SEMO Tournament on Friday.

The Lady Lions lost the first match to Kennett 25-19, 25-23.

Emily Layson had seven points and three kills while Jessica Stark had four aces and five assists. Katie Gooden chipped in with four blocks, Krista Stanford added eight digs and Kara Bernskoetter had three kills.

Calvary won the second match against Campbell 25-21, 25-18. Stark and Rebecca Thompson had nine points each while Stark added four assists. Abbott had two blocks and Stanford had eight digs.

The Lions (2-2) are back in action today.
