INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tamika Catchings scored 23 points to help the playoff-bound Indiana Fever overcome a slow start and rally to defeat the New York Liberty 66-63 Friday night.

Erlana Larkins hit two free throws with 2:49 to play to put Indiana in front 61-60 and Karima Christmas hit a 3-pointer just over a minute later to give the Fever a 64-60 lead with 1:30 to play.

The win kept the Fever (16-17) tied with the Washington Mystics for the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Briann January added 13 points for Indiana and forward Katie Douglas, who had missed 30 games because of a back injury, started and had 11 points in 29 minutes.

DeLisha Milton scored 18 points in the sixth straight loss for the Liberty (11-22), who led 38-32 at halftime after Indiana shot 12 of 38 from the field.

SKY 87, DREAM 82

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Epiphanny Prince scored 16 of her 29 points in the final quarter to lift Chicago over Atlanta in a meeting of the Eastern Conference's top teams Friday night.

Angel McCoughtry, the WNBA's leading scorer, had 29 points and Tiffany Hayes added 12 for Atlanta.

Elena Delle Donne scored 18 points and Sylvia Fowles had 12 points and 18 rebounds for the Sky (24-9).

The Sky have clinched the Eastern Conference's top seed for their first playoff appearance. Atlanta (17-16) is the conference's No. 2 seed. The Sky can clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory at Western Conference champion Minnesota on Saturday in their regular-season finale.

The Dream led 65-62 after three quarters. Fowles' layup put the Sky ahead 78-76 with 3:14 left. Prince then hit a jumper for an 80-76 lead with 2:05 remaining.

After McCoughtry made two free throws to cut the lead to 80-78 with 1:08 left, the Sky went 7 for 8 from the line to seal the win.

MERCURY 82, SILVER STARS 61

PHOENIX (AP) - Diana Taurasi had 20 points and 10 assists and Phoenix beat San Antonio for its fifth win in six games.

The Mercury (19-14) hit four straight 3-pointers to start the fourth quarter, scoring 21 straight points to open an 80-52 lead with 3:55 left.

Danielle Adams and Shenise Johnson each had 11 points for San Antonio (11-22), which has lost four straight and five of six.

No. 1 draft pick Brittney Griner added 13 points and five rebounds in 21 minutes for Phoenix.

The Mercury, the No. 3 seed in the West, complete their regular season on Sunday at Los Angeles and then face the second-seeded Sparks in the first round of the playoffs beginning Thursday at the Staples Center.

MYSTICS 82, SUN 56

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ivory Latta scored 19 points and playoff-bound Washington hit 12 of 17 3-pointers in the rout of Connecticut.

Kia Vaughn added 14 points and 10 rebounds, Tayler Hill had 16 and Monique Currie scored 13 for the Mystics (16-17), who led by 18 points in the first half and then fended off Connecticut rallies in the second half.

Mistie Bass led the Sun (9-23) with 13 points. Connecticut trimmed Washington's lead to seven in the second half and trailed 56-47 when Hill countered with a pair of 3-pointers, starting a 17-4 spurt.
