Intruder shot by KC-area homeowner identified

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - An intruder who was fatally shot by a Kansas City-area homeowner has been identified as a 30-year-old man with a long criminal history.

The Kansas City Star (http://is.gd/u5hlcO ) reports that Christopher Robinson is accused of stealing three vehicles in a pre-dawn crime spree. A homeowner killed him with two shotgun blasts early Wednesday inside a residential garage in northern Kansas City. The shooting happened after Robinson allegedly had stolen keys and tried to drive off in the family's vehicle.

Police said the homeowner's wife held their child and hid in a closet while calling 911 after Robinson broke into their home.

Robinson had been living with his parents in Kansas City, Kan. Police in the city had arrested Robinson at least 28 times since 2002.
