“The MOMologues” a hilarious tribute to motherhood written by three mothers, Sheila Eppoliot, Stefanie Cloutier and Lisa Rafferty, which tells the funny sides of conception, pregnancy, labor, adjustments to newborns and dealing with pre-schoolers.
Directed by Kathlene Lavery, the show stars Melle Richardson, Carrie Peter, Ashley Cook and Sarah Culp.
Capital City Players is using the show as vehicle to help mothers-to-be through Pregnancy Help Center of Jefferson City whose director is Leslie Kerns. The center is located at 1011 B Southwest Boulevard.
The center has been open for a little over a year. Women with pregnancy needs can come in and receive help. After their initial visit the women must take classes in baby care and parenting. For each class taken they receive vouchers that can be used to receive more needed items. Each class runs from six to eight weeks.
The audiences are urged help the center by bringing any one of the following items to the performance: diapers, wipes, lotion, wash, shampoo, baby clothes, bibs, baby toys, bottles, wash cloths, towels and miscellaneous items. These will be given to the center.
