Staggs hurls Blair Oaks to victory with perfect game

ELDON — Payton Staggs threw a perfect game for the second straight season.

Blair Oaks’ Staggs, just a sophomore, tossed the gem in a 10-0 five-inning victory against Eldon on Thursday night.

She struck out 10 while completing the feat just a year shy of the anniversary of her first perfect game against School of the Osage.

Ashley Forck and LeeAnn Polowy powered the offense by each blasting a home run. Forck’s was a two-run shot while Polowy’s was of the solo variety. Both collected two hits and two RBI. Sara Jones went 2-for-2 and Paige Siebeneck added two hits and an RBI.

Blair Oaks (3-1) plays Tuesday at Helias.

Blair Oaks (3-1) won the JV game 6-0. Lindsey Kolb was the winning pitcher, allowing one hit and a walk. Bailie Bellin paced the offense with two hits and an RBI. Other RBI came from Macyn Wilbers and Natalie Mudd.
