Jays JV, frosh win in football

FLORRISANT - The Jefferson City Jays junior varsity and freshman teams defeated McCluer North on Monday.

The Jays won the JV game 39-24, scoring all of their points in the first half.

Jefferson City got on the board with a 17-yard pass from Isaac Roling to Rayshawn Williams. J.T. Bohlken then kicked the first of his three extra points.

Denzel Wilson later added a 32-yard touchdown run in the quarter.

The Jays scored four times in the second quarter. The touchdowns came on a 20-yard pass from Roling to Bryce Beckley, a 56-yard run by Williams, a 5-yard run by Da'Jon Brannigan, and a 48-yard pass from Roling to Jacob Gourley.

Antonio Steward and Mark Pitts had interceptions for the Jays, while Joseph Bustamonte had a fumble recovery. Charles Nelson, Zane Coleman, Nathan Bustamonte and Tekoah Sage all had sacks.

In the freshman game, the Jays were 47-8 winners against the Stars.

Scoring were Adam Huff on a 1-yard run and a 40-yard punt return, a 3-yard pass from Gunner See to Carson Ridgeway, a 7-yard run by Grant Deym, a 22-yard pass from See to Alan Roettgen, a 34-yard pass from See to Tate Borgmeyer, a 26-yard run by Isaac Moreland and a 70-yard kickoff return by Rashaun Williams.

Christian Mayberry had an interception for Jefferson City, while Borgmeyer and Dylan Anderson had fumble recoveries. Borgmeyer and Roettgen also had quarterback sacks.
