2 treated after Saturday accidents

Two Mid-Missourians were taken to hospitals after they were hurt in separate collisions.

No treatment information was available in either case.

The Highway Patrol said Justin R. Mitchell, 17, Latham, was taken to St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City after he suffered moderate injuries in an 11 a.m., two-vehicle accident near Clarksburg.

The patrol reported Mitchell was eastbound on U.S. 50 when he tried to make a left turn into Route H.

He turned his 2005 Toyota Corolla into the path of Aaron A. Anglen’s westbound 2005 Ford 500.

Both vehicles were listed as totaled, but Anglen, 49, Jefferson City was not reported as being hurt.

Both men were wearing seat belts.

In a separate accident, Karen E. Miller, 61, Bland, received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle wreck on Phelps County Road 1220, northeast of St. James.

She was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

The patrol said she was eastbound when her 2003 Toyota Tundra ran off the right side of the county road, then off the left side after she over-corrected.

The truck then rode down an embankment and hit several trees.

Miller was using a seat belt.

The accident happened at 10:55 a.m.
