NEW BLOOMFIELD - Jefferson City's Brooke Thompson and Helias' Jenna Kosmatka earned all-state honors as the Class 2 girls state golf tournament wrapped up Tuesday.
Competing on the par-72 track at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club, Thompson had the best finish of any area competitor, as she placed 10th with a score of 83-79-162.
Kosmatka, meanwhile, became one of the last players to earn all-state honors, which go to the top-15 finishers and ties. Kosmatka ended in a three-way tie for 13th by posting a score of 85-80-165.
Also at the event, Jefferson City's Hope Watson finished 38th (86-91-177) and Helias' Lauren Plunkett tied for 53rd (92-94-186).
Sun Jung of Springfield Glendale won the event by posting a score of 76-74-150, two strokes better than Taylor BeDell of Warrensburg (81-71-152).

One area competitor emerged as an all-state honoree following the Class 1 state meet at the par-71 Sedalia Country Club, as School of the Osage's Taylor Hayes tied for fifth.
Hayes posted a two-day score of 77-84-161 to tie two other competitors for fifth. She was 14 strokes back of the winner, Jessica Dreesbeimdieke of Westminster Christian (72-75-147).
Two other area players just missed out on all-state honors, as Southern Boone's Hannah Muroski tied for 16th (91-88-179), two strokes out of the last all-state place, and Russellville's Mikala Jungmeyer tied for 19th (91-89-180).
Also at the event, Russellville's Kelsey Schrimpf was 27th (93-93-186) and New Bloomfield's Brooke Kelly finished in 42nd place (99-96-195).
John Burroughs won the team event with a score of 342-341-683, 11 strokes clear of second-place MICDS.
Sedalia Sacred Heart placed third with a score of 353-364-717. Smithville took fourth with a 365-386-751.
