Art auction to benefit shelter animals

A silent auction fundraiser is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 9 at Capital Arts, 1203 Missouri Blvd.

Dr. Mar Doering of All Paws Animal Clinic in Holts Summit is the featured speaker.

Calvary Lutheran High School art students and local artists Janis Burgin, Katherine Hajaved, Sunny Hodge, Deb Schellman, Fred Schollmeyer, Pat Stafford and Polly Webster have painted various pieces of artwork of some of the dogs that have been rescued by People Helping Paws. Some are looking for homes and are in foster care at this time, and some have been adopted.

This fundraiser is to help People Helping Paws continue to rescue animals that are close to being euthanized because of lack of space in shelters. Funds will help with vetting and spay/neutering services and to help fill a pet food pantry for families that are needing help with these services.
