FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Michel had a goal and an assist to help FC Dallas beat Seattle 2-0 on Saturday, preventing the Sounders from clinching a playoff spot.

Michel, who replaced Kenny Cooper in the 58th minute, scored in the 87th minute after he tapped a shot into the right corner of the net from the top of the goalie's box. Michel rebounded a missed shot by David Ferreira before scoring his third goal of the season.

Michel set up FC Dallas' first goal in the 65th minute when he arched a free kick to Matt Hedges. Hedges redirected the pass with a header from about 10 yards away that bounced off the ground and into the top left corner of the net.

FC Dallas improved to 11-11-1 with its third victory in its past 20 matches.

Seattle (15-12-6) has lost four straight.

REVOLUTION 3, CREW 2

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 76th minute to lift New England to a victory over Columbus that kept its playoff hopes alive.

A.J. Soares opened the scoring in the 32nd minute for New England and Dominic Oduro equalized in the 59th minute for Columbus. Chris Tierney converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute to put the Revolution back in front before Aaron Schoenfeld leveled it again in the 71st.

The Revolution (13-11-9, 48 points) are tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference with Houston. The top five teams in each conference advance to the playoffs.

The win extended the Revolution's unbeaten streak to five (3-0-2), while the Crew (12-16-5, 41 points) dropped their second straight.

RAPIDS 3, WHITECAPS 2

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - Gabriel Torres scored his second goal of the game in the 77th minute to lift Colorado over Vancouver and move the Rapids into a tie for third place in the Western Conference.

Torres' left-footed shot came two minutes after Camilo Sanvezzo had tied the game with a penalty kick that was awarded when Jordan Harvey was hauled down in the scoring area.

Deshorn Brown added a goal for Colorado (14-10-9). Its 51 points, a franchise best, tied it with Seattle and Los Angeles in the West.

Kekuta Manneh also scored for Vancouver (12-12-9), which had its two-game road winning streak snapped and was eliminated from playoff contention.

IMPACT 2, UNION 1

MONTREAL (AP) - Marco Di Vaio scored his 20th goal of the season, defender Karl Ouimette headed in his first career goal and Montreal beat Philadelphia to take a big step toward making the MLS playoffs.

The Impact (14-12-7), who ended a six-game winless run, are solidly in playoff position going into their final regular-season game in Toronto.

Fabinho scored in the first half for Philadelphia (12-11-10), which began the day in a three-way tie with Montreal and Chicago for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

Di Vaio became the 11th player in MLS history to score 20 goals in a season.
