One-man volleyball team will raise funds for United Way, PAL

Helias Catholic High School will host a Family Fun Night to benefit the United Way of Central Missouri and the Central Missouri Parochial Athletic League at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at Helias.

As a part of the event, a one-man volleyball team, Beat the Odds, will take on several opponents.

The player, Bob Holmes, claims to have played more games than any athlete in the history of the world in any sport. His record is 17,800 wins and 410 losses. He has beaten teams like the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburg Steelers, Miami Dolphins and others.

Holmes is a motivational speaker with an amazing message.

His local opponents consist of the Jefferson City Police Department, Helias Junior Varsity Volleyball, PAL Coaches, and Helias Boys Varsity Basketball Team.

Admission to the event is $5 per person and it is open to the public. There will be chances to win a raffle prize with admission tickets and a 50/50 drawing.
