One arrested in connection with Tuesday robbery in JC

A Jefferson City man was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery that occurred Tuesday in the Capital City.

Police reports show Antony K. Gossett, 26, was arrested for first-degree robbery and was taken to the Cole County Jail pending formal charges.

He was located by a JCPD Community Action Team officer who arrested him without resistance.

At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Scenic Drive in reference to a armed robbery that just occurred.

The victim, a 58 year-old male Jefferson City resident, fled and called 911.

It was discovered that the victim and Gossett knew one another and that the victim had invited Gossett to come over.

The victim said Gossett robbed him with a pistol and took cash from him.

After fleeing the area, officers set up a perimeter and searched using their K-9 unit. They lost Gossett's trail in the 2600 block of Haaf Drive and he had been on the run until taken into custody, Thursday.
