Calvary notches volleyball victory

Against Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo. - The Calvary volleyball team improved to 7-11-1 as the Lady Lions beat Montgomery County 25-18, 24-26, 25-19 on Thursday night.

Emily Layson had eight kills, seven digs and three aces for the winners.

Also for Calvary, Jessica Stark had eight assists and eight service points; Rebecca Thompson had nine service points, including two aces, and five assists; and Megan Abbott had three blocks.

The Lady Lions will play Saturday at the Eugene Tournament.

In the JV game, Calvary posted a 25-20, 26-24 victory.

Brooke Rollins had six service points, including three aces, and five assists for Calvary (10-1). Ryoko Asakuma had six service points and five digs and Jenna Fisher had two kills.
