Lincoln places second

COLUMBIA - The Lincoln Blue Tigers finished second in the two-day Columbia College Cougar Classic that wrapped up Tuesday.

William Woods won the event at the Columbia Country Club with a total of 308-310-618, five strokes better than the Blue Tigers (308-315).

Andy Davis of William Woods was the medalist with a score of 75-73-618.

Nick Goeke led the way for Lincoln by tying for third (73-78-151) and Steven Mallow was sixth (78-75-153). Also for the Blue Tigers, Austin Wheeler tied for 13th (79-79-158), Kyle Stone tied for 18th (79-83-162) and Brian Lillevold was tied for 24th (78-85-163).

Competing as individuals, Lincoln's Eric Kosmatka tied for seventh (76-78-154) and Zach Rockers (Helias High School) of Columbia College tied for 35th (83-86-169).

Ryan Rost (Linn High School) tied for 35th (83-86-169) for Central Methodist.
