Fatima tops Blair Oaks in volleyball

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - There wasn't much drama in Thursday night's big rivalry volleyball matchup.

The Fatima Lady Comets earned a 25-11, 25-21 victory against the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons.

"It was good," Fatima coach Mark Bockstruck said of the win. "I just wanted the girls to play well. Blair Oaks is a good team. We have to play better."

Fatima, the top-ranked team in Class 2, showed why Thursday night.

Kayla Nilges led the way for Fatima with 10 kills. Bailey Berhorst and Shelby Thoenen added five apiece.

Emily Keilholz registered 22 assists while Angela Keilholz contributed eight digs.

Fatima (20-3) hosts New Haven on Monday.

Fatima won the JV match 25-22, 25-23. The Lady Comets won the freshman match 25-15, 25-19.
