Jefferson City consumers will have one more retail option for giving in to their sweet tooth this winter, as a new bakery has opened its doors. Mi Pueblo Bakery, located at 510 Ellis Blvd., Suite F, across from the Firley YMCA, officially opened last week. Owners Manuel Zaragoza and his wife, Alma, have opened up the Mexican-focused bakery, after moving to the Capitol City just a few months ago from California state.
Mi Pueblo Bakery features cakes, pastries, cinnamon rolls, cookies, Mexican sweet bread, and the owner's favorite - bollos Mexicana, a type of roll. Zaragoza said he wanted to open the bakery because nowhere else in Jefferson City offers these type of bakery products.
"Everything is fresh, made here," he said.
Open from 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., the bakery allows customers to order straight out of the case, or place special orders for the future. No phone number has been set up yet, so Zaragoza encourages people to stop by. The Zaragozas are pleased to be in Jefferson City and are excited to become a part of the community.
The new bakery is just one of many establishments approved for a business license from the City of Jefferson for the month of October.
